American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is not happy that some people were not happy about the cover of his debut solo album and vents out on Twitter.
Lambert was responding to earlier criticism defending his campy cover on his forthcoming solo debut album ‘For Your Entertainment Only’.
The cover features Lambert in full make-up, Madonna-ish finger-less black gloves, and a blue-dyed hairdo that makes him look freakishly like Pink.
In his Tweet message, Lambert defended the cover, saying the campy look was intentional right from the start.
“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an omage to the past. It IS ridiculous.”
“For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention.”
Well, he certainly ain’t no David Bowie. But I admit the pink gloss lipstick and yellow mascara does look fabulous on him.
The 27 year-old was the runner-up for last year’s American Idol contest. He is openly gay and was unfazed during the show when photos of him kissing another man surfaced. He maintained that he had always been open about his life and had nothing to hide.
That would make him the second gay person to almost clinch the American Idol title after Clay Aiken. Anyone actually remember him?
